Big Changes and Update: The Heavy Duty 2025 RAM 2500 Trucks
Ram Trucks says that new Ram HD news will arrive later this year (in 2024). Company representatives did not elaborate on the exact timing or significance of the news. This is an important announcement because we often get the question: When will the new or updated Ram HD hit the shelves.
We know that the updated 2025 Ram 1500 truck lineup will be unveiled this week. The 2025 Ram 1500 receives exterior design changes, interior updates (larger screen), a new Tungsten trim level, electrical system upgrades, over-the-air update capability, and new powertrain options. If we had to look into a crystal ball and predict the future we might see similar changes to the Ram HD truck lineup.
Add to that the fact that Stellantis, of course, is eager to get close to the Silverado and perhaps even take second place, and last year sent Ram on a new path with the redesigned and upgraded 2025 Ram 1500 series. The model includes subtle aesthetic changes, additional features and technology, plus a number of new powertrains. The company has ditched the Hemi V8 in favor of a streamlined lineup.
So, the base is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with eTorque mild hybrid, followed by the introduction of two 3.0-liter Hurricane turbo inline-six options in standard and H/O variants (420 or 540 hp). But that’s not all as there’s also an all-electric Ram 1500 REV coming, plus a potentially disruptive Ramcharger with an EV range-extender setup and no less than 663 horsepower.
Of course, many people are wondering whether this exact same powertrain will be used in the upcoming 2025 or 2026 refresh of the Ram HD model. Of course, this was also discussed by the well-known online media Cars Authority in the headline “Next-Gen 2025 RAM 2500 Heavy Duty Truck Reviews”.
Of course the rumor mongers will try to dig deeper and find out. At the same time, the imaginative world of digital car content creators is busy imagining the potential dual displays of popular models like the Ram 2500 HD and 3500 HD. More precisely, the good folks at the AutoYa info channel on YouTube have a satellite spot dubbed AutoYa Interior and that’s where all the (CGI) Ram action happens complete with powertrain speculation from the host and with lots of fancy colors courtesy of a fixed pixel master.
The latter has been busy presenting interior changes (bigger infotainment screen, new steering wheel, additional trim inserts), setting up a cockpit preview alongside the traditional color palette roll, showing off as many exterior hues as possible for the Ram 2500 HD, and then also imagining potential looks of the Ram 3500 HD’s larger twin complete with its own CGI paint job.
